The “best” frames are those with substantial base stats or unique/useful power sets against higher level content. Abilities that scale, hard CC, armor stripping are key, along with a specter that actually uses that power set. Saryn, Frost, Oberon, Atlas, Inaros, Gara, Nidus, Wisp (just the ones I’ve got first-hand with).
A CC frame would probably be best for your CC based specter. An Amprex does seem best here. I'm not sure if specters go into bleed out if they do then the knockback of the sonicor seems good If they don't I would use a shotgun Secondary like Twin Rogga, Brakk, Pyrana,Detron/Mara Detron.

I havent tried Nidus but have seen on posts where he will link with you often for power buff. Does anyone know if Nidus specter still does this.Next is Trinity with the Amprex (fav) Hek or Boltor. That is one specter that can multi-task very well. I find that she uses blessing very often if my companions health keeps low or her health instead of mine LOL. She uses most abilities quite often and can do a lot of reviving on objectives and my Companion. It all depends on what you want your spectre to accomplish. For example, Frost is good for defense and interception, Volt may cast speed buff sometimes, Nezha may help with crowd control, Oberon may even heal everyone if the stars align in a right order, etc. In most cases, even low tier spectres are pretty durable IMO and may be of great help.Dragon nikana because the quick melee deals a lot of damage and is super quick, so if an enemy gets too close my specter will most likely cut it up before it reaches.
